Namata Forest Villa was founded in 2009 by NEO Hospitality with a singular conviction: that the highest form of luxury is an unmediated encounter with nature. Nestled in 40 acres of ancient deciduous forest in the Western Ghats, Namata has grown from a single villa to a constellation of handcrafted retreats — each distinct, each speaking in the language of the forest.

The name "Namata" is derived from a Sanskrit root meaning "that which has been given" — a reflection of our belief that the forest is a gift, and our role is to tend it with grace and gratitude.

Every design decision, every hiring choice, every menu item is filtered through one question: does this honour the land and the people who visit it?

Founder & Creative Director

An architect by training and a forester by conviction, Rohan conceived Namata after a solo journey through the Western Ghats in 2007. He oversees every structural and experiential decision at the property.

Juma

Executive Chef

Trained in Paris and rooted in Karnataka, Meera brings classical technique to forest ingredients. Her menus change with the seasons and are guided by the daily harvest — never the other way round.

Neema

Head of Guest Experience

With a background in ethnobotany, Aryan curates Namata's signature forest walks, wellness programmes, and the immersive cultural evenings that guests consistently describe as life-changing.
